Moving cards on the tableau
Stack downward in alternating colours, and only move face-up cards. Clear a card off a face-down one and that hidden card flips up — that reveal is usually your best progress.
Empty columns
An empty column takes a King only, or a legal run that starts with a King. Save those spaces until a King actually helps you dig deeper.
Draw 1 vs Draw 3
Pick the mode on the setup screen. Draw 1 flips one stock card to the waste; Draw 3 flips three, and you can only play the top waste card.
