How to use this calculator

Scoring
This calculator uses Solitaire Arcade's Australian Mainstream scoring. For American scoring, or your own figures, select Customise scoring above.
Team names
Enter your team names so you know which team is which. Once the names and the scoring are set, you are ready to play. If you are still uncertain, you can Play 500 and get some practice in before you take on your family and friends.
Contract
In Score this hand section, select Contract to lock in the winning bid, then select the team that won the bid. Enter how many tricks that team won, and you are ready to calculate the score.
Save hand
When you agree on the hand, select Save hand and the calculator does all the work for you, and the score will appear in the Score card section.
Undo and reset
If you make a mistake, select Undo last hand. This will allow you to make any correction you need. Once you are done, select Save hand again to keep playing. To play another match, select Reset match. Be careful, as this clears the Score card and cannot be undone.

How the scoring works

The figures in this calculator follow Solitaire Arcade's scoring, you can read more in the How to play 500 guide.

A made suit or no-trump contract scores its Avondale value. A failed contract loses that value. If the bidding team takes all 10 tricks on a contract worth less than 250, the hand scores a 250 slam bonus. Misère scores 250 and Open Misère scores 500. The team that did not win the bid gets 10 points for each trick they take, including in Misère and Open Misère.

The team that won the bid wins the match when they make the contract and their score reaches 500. A team that reaches −500 loses. Points won while defending cannot win the match, and that score stops at 490. This calculator does not score the bidding. Enter the contract that was bid.

Feel free to set your own figures. Just select Customise scoring above to choose your preferred values. Enjoy your game, and best of luck!
